Sevam invests in a new furnace in Tit mellil
SEVAM National leader in glass packaging is investing in the renovation of its furnace N°2 in Tit Mellil. About a hundred people were mobilized on the renovation site of the furnace, which was shut down for 70 days to allow the work to be completed on time. The teams took turns 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, in order to carry out this project and guarantee the start-up of the new furnace N°2 on October 10, 2021.
Four major stages marked the project; The emptying of the furnace, the demolition and the reconstruction to finally achieve a ten-day tempering during which the furnace was gradually heated up in order to avoid large thermal variations to finally reach 1500 degrees.
Through the renovation of its production facilities, SEVAM is equipping itself with the means to meet its ambition. Indeed, the extension and technical modernization of furnace N°2 is a solid asset allowing SEVAM to ensure a better performance in terms of competitiveness, quality, working conditions for teams and better integration into the regional circular economy.
